Jon Thelen has made a career in the fishing industry for over two decades but has been in love with the sport his entire life. Jon grew up fishing on weekends with his father and grandfathers at family cabins in the Alexandria and Leech Lake areas. During summer school breaks, Jon rode his bike to the Champlin Mill Pond in search of northern pike and casting from the shores of the Mississippi and Rum Rivers in Anoka, MN for anything that would bite! In his early 20’s Jon began fishing tournaments and in 2003 stepped into the Professional ranks of the Professional Walleye Trail where his passion continued to build and grow with every successful tournament finish. Throughout his career, Jon has been a fishing guide on famed Lake Mille Lacs, sold boats for a large Minneapolis area marine dealership and taken a large role in the day to day operations of the Lindy, Little Joe, and Thill tackle brands. Jon has been on the cover of over 30 magazines and appeared as a source in over 150 articles over the past 20 years. In 2015, Jon became the Field Producer and Host of Lindy’s Fish Ed Television which airs from December through March each season on Fox Sports North, Fox Midwest, and Fox Detroit. Jon enjoys sharing information that helps anglers of all skill levels have more success on the water.
